April

I tried to take a picture of Ethan's new haircut..... he completely smirked at me..... Stinker!
.
This next set is of Ethan and his cousin Matthew. We had a birthday dinner for Eric at Gma Daems house and these two had a lot of fun playing together. This first one made me laugh just cuz it's totally not what it looks like. Ethan used his hands to help him up the stairs and he hadn't totally stood himself up yet. :) It made me giggle.
.
These last 2 are from this morning. Kurt stayed late to see Ethan this morning and the 2 boys went for a fun motorcycle ride on the big bike! Ethan loves riding motorcycles with daddy!

Ghost

Kurt and I decided this morning that there is a ghost following us around. This morning, Kurt got up and was unpacking and telling me stories from the Toronto trade show. Since I'm a lazy bum I was still laying in bed.... at some point in the conversation I realized that I must have kicked my socks off during the night. (btw, I don't normally wear socks to bed... I have bandages on my toes that I didn't want snagging on the sheets.) Setting that aside, Kurt told me how, while he was at the trade show, he lost one of the buttons off his suit coat and the frustration at losing stupid buttons. (honestly, can't they find a more secure way to put them on?!)  Anyway, he got back to the hotel and was emptying out his pockets and found the button in the front pocket of his jeans!! His jeans are pretty form fitting, so I can't imagine how the button managed to jump off his coat into his pants. Weird! During this conversation I was trying to locate my socks in the bed and couldn't find them. So I swing my legs over to get out of bed, and there my socks are, nicely folded next to my nightstand. I have no idea how they got there, cuz I didn't wake up during the night..... so we came to the conclusion that a ghost is following us, folding our socks and saving our buttons.
The End

I know, I'm crazy.

You other moms are going to think I'm nuts, but I am trying to teach Ethan how to say 'no'.  Otherwise (as you see in the video) he just does a whiney little cry if you do something he doesn't like. I think his no is pretty darn cute though.

Grrr!

Do you know what I hate more than anything else? Pouring yourself a tall, cold glass of milk and taking a swig just to find out it has gone bad!!! Especially when it's a Sunday and you can't go buy a new gallon! Blech!

Our Adventurous Week

This video made me laugh! It was shot with the intent of getting footage of Ethan jumping, which is quite a feat for an 18 month old, but people act weird when the camera comes out. (ie: Beck) I also loved how Kaiya is so oblivious to everything while she sits in her chair, eating her watermelon and tapping her toes.
.
Easter for us went without a hitch! My sister stayed with us all weekend and we had so much fun! We went to the treehouse museum in Ogden but I didn't take my camera darn it!! And we just played hard from sun up to sun down every day.
.
Saturday morning we went to Kurt's parents for a fabulous pot luck breakfast with his family and the annual easter egg hunt. Everyone ate well and had lots of fun. This picture is of Ethan and his cousin Matthew (with uncle Brian in the background). I asked them both to smile and Matthew gave the biggest cheese grin I've ever seen, and Ethan still thinks smiling is when you blow air out of your nose.....
Sunday afternoon we had Ethan find his basket..... he whined about looking until he saw the candy...  We also had a huge Daems family dinner at our home that evening, but I didn't even think to pull out the camera. Lots of family and fun this week.  :)
Now it's Monday and we are happy to relax!

Ethan's New Word

Does this remind anyone of the seagulls from Finding Nemo? In case you're wondering, Ethan has gathered up all the dogs tennis balls and is walking around. "mine, mine, mine'

It Has Happened!!!

My sister made the most beautiful table decorations for my wedding reception almost 4 years ago. I LOVED them!!! The best part is that they were even more beautiful when they dried out. When I went back to my moms to pick up some things, shortly after the wedding, I saw one of these decorations and of all 8 this one was my favorite. It was so beautiful and in all of our houses I made sure it was sitting in a spot where I would see it every day.  Let me show you what became of this beautiful goblet of flowers.....
AAAARRRGGG!!!!! Ethan was sweeping and hit it with his broom stick! It made me so sad.... I think the very worst part that irked me the most was I had just finished cleaning the house when it shattered. I had put the vacuum away not even 30 seconds earlier....  I heard the broom hit something and instantly knew what it was and I was so shocked that I stood there for a few seconds just staring at my boy. Luckily he was so shocked too that he didn't move a muscle, cuz we were both barefoot and there was broken glass everywhere. Here's where my little convict stood for the next 45 minutes while I re-cleaned every inch of my upstairs again. (I hate broken glass!)
On a happier note, Kurt is home!! We are so excited! And we have a full 2 weeks before his next (and last) business trip! Ethan has decided that Kurt's not going to leave without him again.... Here is what I came out to this morning.
Ethan packed himself in Kurt's bag with his bag of traveling snacks, ready for the next trip!  And for the funny picture of the day: Ethan decided that my vegetable steamer was really a hat.

Smorgasbord

To finish my last post, here is the finished product of finger painting... we made spring flowers!! Ethan loved helping me color the stems, without him I wouldn't have known there was supposed to be a big red line connecting the different stems.
For dinner tonight, Kurt and I took Kurt's parents out for their first sushi excursion. It was fun!! They both really liked it. We had pretty safe rolls and didn't tell them what they were eating until after dinner. One of the rolls had Eel in it (yummy) and the other had tobiko on top. Tobiko is flying fish eggs. And Linon even ate Octopus... and liked it!!! Lin was eating the tobiko by the spoonful, she was glad we didn't tell her what it was until after she ate it.

Ethan had teriyaki chicken, rice (a handful of wasabi, not so fun) and basically just made a really big mess.
I thought this next picture was cute cuz we were looking at Per on Sarah's blog and Ethan would lift up this decorative duck and make him give Per a kiss, every single picture. It was cute and I didn't even put him up to it.
This last picture is of Ethan rocking a mohawk. What makes this picture funny is the fact that we didn't use hair gel.... it is styled using chapstick.... Ethan watches me do my hair every morning and I guess he was just copying his mom.
