In case you haven't noticed, Ethan is a spittin image of Kurt, all the way down to the fact that the boy can't smile for pictures......

Kurt was in Portland all week at an Industrial Hygiene show. Kurt always brings the boys a little something from all of his trips. Apparently the SWAG at this trade show was a little limited. Here's what the boys got:
Can you guess what they are?
Let me introduce you to Penicillin
and Toxic Mold.
Ethan is somewhat confused and still trying to learn how to pronounce their names.

Disneyland
I have been putting off my Disneyland post.... It was so fun, but there were a lot of pictures to sort through, and way too many that I liked! Anyway, lots of pictures in this post.
We left for Disneyland on Tuesday, the airport was about as fun as airports ever are, but Ethan felt just like Kurt cuz he had his little suitcase that he was pulling around. We stopped and saw JC who is the shoe shiner in the SLC airport.
After spending so much time in the airport with all of his traveling the past few years, Kurt has become very good friends with this guy. I've only seen him a couple times, but he is a very nice dude and was so excited to see the boys.
We had to fly on one of the dinky little planes that only has two seats on each side of the aisle, so I and the boys were on one side while Kurt was across from us. It wasn't that bad until I tried to pass Kurt the baby and the attendent came back and said the baby had to stay on the other side of the plane cuz that is where the extra oxygen mask is...... Good thing it was only a couple hour flight.
We landed in LA, had dinner at an Olive Garden where Kurt thought he was funny and told Joe, the waiter, that me and my mom thought he was hott. Mom and I (and probably Joe too) were just a little embarrassed, but we did get exceptional service after that. Kurt..... uhg. Boys and their pranks. After dinner we went to the beach! When we saw these plants mom said "Look, those cactuses look like a cactus!!"........
We all looked at her funny, I responded with "mom, they are cactuses" (I know that's not a correct pronunciation). It ends up she meant to say they looked like an Octopus.
Seth didn't like the beach too much, the salt water really irritated his legs. The second the water touched his skin they turned bright red and he started crying. I found a drinking fountain and washed them as good as I could. Ethan LOVED the beach!!
We would run down when the tide went out, then try and race back before the water could touch us. We were not nearly fast enough and we were soaked. Poor Ethan fell on the first run and was soaked from the waist down.
We got to the hotel in Anaheim late that night and all of us crashed. Travel days always exhaust me, and apparently the boys are the same way. No one made a peep until 8 the next morning.
We started off our first day with a Character breakfast. Anyone with young kids who is going to Disneyland should definitely do a character meal. It was expensive, but the best money we spent. All the characters came right up to our table, and we happen to be sitting right next to Mickey's picture booth so whenever there was a lull in the people getting their pictures taken Ethan would be having a dance party with Mickey. He loved it!!
Ethan had to stand on his chair when Goofy came around cuz he was so tall. Somehow Ethan's chair tipped over. Eth wasn't hurt, but he was so embarrassed that he ran out of the restaurant and Kurt could not get him to come back in. So I went out and told him that Goofy was so excited that Ethan did goofy things just like him. He was so goofy that Goofy thought that they could be special friends, but Eth would have to learn the sound Goofy makes when he falls. Eth thought it was cool that they were going to be special friends and now he goes around saying "Aaaaah hoo hoo hooey".
After that we spent the next few days in both the parks. Our favorite rides in Disney were Indiana Jones (though Eth couldn't ride it), Pirates, the Buzz lightyear one where you shoot Zurg, Eth and Kurt liked Thunder Mt Railroad, and I loved Small World. It's the only ride I remember from when I was little other than Splash Mt. Splash Mt was closed until May so we didn't get to ride it.
Just in case you couldn't see him, I thought I'd point out where Seth was.
At California Adventure the boys loved the water park at the Bugs Life land, and there was Grizzly Rapids, but Ethan was about a centimeter to short and they wouldn't let him get on!!! Kurt was ticked so we went back the next morning and Kurt stuffed his socks into the bottom of Ethan's shoes. I am glad he did cuz that was one of his favorite rides.
His other favorite ride, and the one he will tell you was his favorite if you ask him, is Tower of Terror. We rode it twice. He didn't scream, didn't grab onto our arms, nothing!! When we got off the first time he said "let's never never never never never do that again". Then the next day that was the only ride he wanted to do. He got off the second time saying "That one is my favorite!" He and Kurt also really liked Soaring over California. It made me a little motion sick so I only went once. Now whenever Ethan sees a picture of the big bridge or of a city at night he always says "look, we're on the ride!!"
This park is also where we saw Lightning and Mater. Ethan was pretty mesmerized.
(this is the lightning blanket my mom and I made)
He knew they weren't real, but the eyes moved so he thought they eyes were real. They are making an entire Radiator Springs that will be done in May of 2012! We will have to go back.
During lunch on one of the days we were trying to decide what to eat. My mom and I turn around to ask Eth what he wants and he was gone! I look over where Kurt is and he wasn't there either. So I yell to Kurt "Ethan's gone! Find Ethan!" and we start looking around trying to find the little guy. Here's where he was:
At the table right next to where we were standing. He saw these other little kids and thought 'look, they saved a chair for me' and sat down. Those boys were laughing and laughing, I guess we looked like fools. :) It took at least 5 minutes of talking/lecturing/threatening to get Ethan to come sit with us.
Ethan was so silly, he kept picking flowers and stuffing them in his ears when no one was looking.
Occasionally he would cover them with a leaf.
I know, I know.... not the safest thing in the world. Finally I told him that if he kept doing that he'd poke his brain. So now he stuffs them in his nose.
Kurt and I were SO lucky to have my mom there with us. Whenever Seth would fall asleep she would take the stroller and disappear so us three could ride some rides. She and Seth were buddies. She was so fun to have around, my mom is such an awesome lady! She also was the picture snapper, which I am grateful for cuz we didn't take nearly as many pictures as we would have liked. Kurt and I had a little fun with it as well.
I think there's only one picture where we aren't pulling faces.
This was our second morning, we had to stop in a store to buy glasses. I left mine in Utah, and I left Ethan's at the hotel. Kurt was MORTIFIED when Ethan picked these out.
"I am a sunglass designer and Ethan has mouse ears on his face!" Haha!! I thought they were cute, especially for disneyland. Kurt kept trying to 'accidentally' sit on them. :) As soon as we saw Lightning and Mater though, he switched them for his Lightning ones. I think that if Kurt had known that would happen we would have gone there first.
We ended our last night with dinner at Cheesecake Factory, then we dropped Kurt and Eth off back at Disneyland so they could catch the World of Color show and the fireworks. Kurt said the World of Color was amazing, way better than the fireworks! Eth was completely zonked when they got back to the hotel. Apparently he fell asleep in the taxi. Kurt and I never thought we'd see the day when we wore out our 3 year old.
The next day we packed up and headed out. I felt bad that the boys never got to swim in the pool, we promised them the entire time we were there that we'd go swimming. We just ran out of time. Next time I think we will stay an extra day so we can swim and spend more time at the beach.
I just want to say again how much I love my momma. She was so so great to have around. Even when she got the call that my dad squished his finger off (it's healing, doesn't look like they'll have to take it all off after all! just a minor skin graft) she was still asking what she can do for us.
