Toddler Mania: 2 Year Pictures

Ethan really needed his 2 year pictures taken.... he pretty much refused to smile, giving him a sexy, Calvin Klein model look. It took a half an hour, but (with much tickling) we finally got a few good smiles with eyes open AND looking at the camera. Whew. By the way, I post comments under the pictures.

This is a smile my mom should remember (above), I had the same one when I was this age. This is what he believes smiling is, as rude as it sounds I call it 'ugly face'. Never to him of course, but smiling is a hard thing to learn, and this definitely is not it.

Some mothers in today's world feel "cumbered" by home duties and are thus attracted by other more "romantic" challenges. Such women could make the same error of perspective that Martha made. I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children.
