Costa Rica

So, it feels like it's been a while since I've seen this guy
and I'm really excited for our trip..... but sitting here alone in my house the night before we leave has made me realize how much I'm going to miss this guy
I miss him already and I haven't left yet. I didn't realize how much of a baby I am, I honestly can't even walk in his room without boobing about it. I'm a wimp, I'll catch up with everyone in a week. Love you Ethan!!! Thanks Mom! Oh, and if you're looking for something to do, look up didgeridoo on youtube. Play the 2nd or 3rd video, Ethan loves it.

Halloween

We won't be here for halloween this year.... boo..... I let Kurt pick out his costume and Ethan will get to go 'trigger treating' in Millville this year. He has weird eyes in this picture, costume pulls the sides down... oh well.

2 Year Pictures

Ethan really needed his 2 year pictures taken.... he pretty much refused to smile, giving him a sexy, Calvin Klein model look. It took a half an hour, but (with much tickling) we finally got a few good smiles with eyes open AND looking at the camera. Whew. By the way, I post comments under the pictures.
This is a smile my mom should remember (above), I had the same one when I was this age. This is what he believes smiling is, as rude as it sounds I call it 'ugly face'. Never to him of course, but smiling is a hard thing to learn, and this definitely is not it.
Here's one of those Calvin Klein poses.
Here's another
Ugly face again.

Funny Boy

Ethan has started a new thing where he will ask a question and then answer it with the answer he wants. For instance, today I have been making cupcakes and mini pie's for my sister-in-law's shower. He's been helping me, he's really good at using the mixer.... licking the spoons.... sneaking the jelly beans.... Anyway, so he came running into the the kitchen today and said:
"Mommy, I see it?" Then he answers himself with an "Okay!" Hmmmm, this may be one that you have to hear, it doesn't translate over to the blog well....
However, he is an awesome tower builder! (with a little help from mom.)

Didgeridoo

As parents it is our job to instill unique and weird things in our children. Here is one of those things. Ethan was asking tonight for the 'doo doo' during dinner and he's so cute making the noises. For anyone who doesn't know what a didgeridoo is here is a great link.

Big Birthday Party!

Ethan's party was so much fun!! Chase and Hubert (the teachers) were so much fun, I think they are the dream team as far as My Gym is concerned. Some highlights from the party were Circle Time, which is the very beginning when they do stretches, a song, and a dance with all the kids. Ethan just was SO excited to know every face in the room and have everyone telling him happy birthday. He's not one to seek out the center of attention, so it was fun for him to have every one focus only on him for a couple hours. I would say that the ultimate highlight of the party was the birthday ride. Chase put him on a motorcycle and put some glasses on him, which we all know are two of Ethan's favorite things, and he got to ride around everyone a few times while 'Bad to the Bone' played over the sound system.
He just had the happiest smirk on his face the entire time.
.
I tried to take a picture of all the kids that came, there were 15 or so kids there, but I will spare everyone and just post one... Here is Sofi.
I also loved how all the Daems boys were in their white shirts and ties so they could go to the Priesthood session of conference right after the party.
Then, of course, the happy birthday song.
A couple highlights from the last few days:
The beautiful rainbow after the wonderful rainstorm. I wish you could tell in the picture how bright and beautiful it really was.
Then this made me laugh really hard. Tay stayed with us for the weekend (we had an absolute blast, I LOVE that kid!!) and on Friday we were just hanging out in the kitchen and I hear Taylor say "What the crap!?" So I walk around the corner and there was Ethan, just hanging out.
I think they do the funniest things when they think no one is looking.
Hope all is well with everyone!

Ethan is 2!!!

Ethan had quite the birthday! We just had the grandparents over to open presents cuz our family plus Kurts parents were flying out to Seattle that afternoon.
.
We started off the morning by singing happy birthday and we got him out of his crib and presented him with his Birthday Cereal, a much loved Lewis tradition.
Then we had lunch at Arby's with my parents and headed back to the house so Eth could ice birthday cake with Grandma.
There's not a better way to eat your cake.
After cake came presents.
Then we headed off to Seattle. We couldn't find our camera until we were packing up to leave, so we have pictures from our last day....
These ducks would eat the crackers right out of your hand, it was cute!!
